Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Uni Provider Portal.

Getting started

What is Uni?

Uni is a college application platform used by high school students to build and showcase their profiles. The Uni activity bank is where students discover and save extracurricular programs, summer opportunities, and leadership activities.

Who can sign up as an Activity Provider?

Any organization that runs programs for high school students — summer programs, research opportunities, competitions, internships, leadership academies, arts programs, and more.

Is there a contract or commitment?

No contracts. Paid plans are billed monthly and you can cancel at any time. If you cancel, your plan downgrades to Free at the end of your billing period.

How do I get started?

Create a free account, select "Activity Provider" as your account type, and you'll be taken to your dashboard where you can submit your first listing.

Listings & approval

How does listing approval work?

New activity listings go through a brief review by our team before they appear live in the Uni activity bank. This typically takes 1–2 business days. You'll receive an email when your listing is approved.

What happens if I edit a live listing?

Edits to live listings are re-reviewed before going live again. Minor corrections (typos, deadline updates) are typically approved quickly. Substantive changes to program description or eligibility go through the same standard review.

How many activities can I list?

All tiers, including Free, allow unlimited activity listings.

Can I remove a listing?

Yes. You can deactivate or permanently remove any listing from your dashboard at any time.

Analytics

What do the analytics measure?

Starter and Pro providers see three core metrics per activity: Impressions (how many times your activity card appeared in search results), Views (how many students opened your activity detail), and Adds (how many students saved your activity to their profile).

How far back does the analytics data go?

Analytics are available from the date your listing went live. You can filter by 7d, 14d, 30d, 60d, 90d, or 12 months.

What are the weekly emails?

Free tier providers receive a weekly teaser email showing that their activity is getting noticed, with a prompt to upgrade for full data. Starter and Pro providers receive a full weekly digest with per-activity breakdowns.

Sponsored placement

What is Sponsored placement?

Starter and Pro providers receive a "Sponsored" badge on their activity cards and appear in a dedicated Sponsored Programs section at the top of the Uni activity bank. This significantly increases visibility compared to organic placement.

What does "more likely to offer fee waivers" mean?

Sponsored programs are presented to students with messaging that these programs are more likely to offer application fee waivers to qualified applicants. This is a strong signal for cost-conscious students and families.

Student outreach (Pro)

What student data do Pro providers see?

Pro providers can view basic academic information (grade, general interests, extracurricular tags) for students who have saved/added their activities. No PII like full name, contact info, or school is shared without the student's explicit opt-in.

What is "recruitment opt-in"?

Students can opt into recruitment in their Uni profile settings. Opted-in students agree to receive outreach from programs that match their extracurricular interests. Pro providers can send warm outreach — such as fee waiver offers — to up to 10 matched opt-in students per month.

What can I send in warm outreach?

Messages are limited to program information and fee waiver offers. Spam or off-topic messaging is a violation of our provider terms and may result in account suspension.

What is the monthly Instagram post?

Pro providers receive one curated Uni Instagram marketing post per month, subject to Uni's content review. Posts feature your program and are shared to Uni's student audience. This is a great way to build social proof and reach new students.

Billing

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe. No PayPal or wire transfers at this time.

Can I upgrade or downgrade at any time?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your listings remain visible in the activity bank in Free tier status (analytics, sponsorship, and Pro features are removed). You can reactive a paid plan at any time.
